Windows Mobile Setup Options

There are two flavours of email configuration for Microsoft Windows Mobile devices:

POP3/IMAP Configuration

For a standalone solution, Windows Mobile devices can be configured to use POP3 and IMAP to collect email from multiple email addresses.

Exchange Direct Push

Windows devices can be configured to collect email, contacts and calendar information directly from your mail server (known as Exchange Direct Push or ActiveSync) if you run Microsoft Exchange 2003 Service Pack 2 or later. You will need no additional middleware, although some reconfiguration of your existing network will most likely be required.  You will also need to purchase a digital certificate from a trusted certifying authority.
